More about Inmaculada Coffee Farms & this coffee:

Inmaculada Coffee Farms is a truly special place nestled in the Farallones National Park high in the Andes between 1700 - 2000 masl, city of Cali in the south of Colombia.

The Inmaculada Coffee journey started in 2010 when the Holguin family decided to make use of the mountainous forest land that had the perfect conditions for coffee growing. Staring with 5 hectares, the farm areas now spreads over 50 hectares but only 30 of those are planted with coffee, the rest is left as a natural forest.

The coffee land is divided into four different farms located in different areas with different climatic conditions (such as altitude, humidity, rainfall etc.) Those farms are El Jardin, Las Nubes, Monserrat and Inmaculada Concepcion. Specialising in exotic varieties, Inmaculada grow some of the rarest coffees like Rume Sudan, Eugenoides, Laurina, Gesha and Maragesha.

Inmaculada means Immaculate and that's exactly what these farms are, managed with exceptional attention to detail both in the fields and during post-harvest processing.

Having had the pleasure of cupping a selection of this year's harvest of their coffee range, we have selected this signature gesha lot for its outstandingly complex, floral and delicately fruity character. We are beyond excited to share it with you!

More about the Gesha variety

Originally from Ethiopia, Geisha gained notoriety in Costa Rica and Panama in the early years of specialty coffee. This variety is globally recognized and celebrated for its distinctive floral aroma, tea-like characteristics, and delicate fruit-driven flavour. Geisha has dominated the competition scene as well as many fine coffee auctions over the past few years, increasing its popularity and demans across the globe.

The Geisha tree or Abisinian is known to be a high and rarefied plant; its leaves are oblong and narrow. The cherries and seeds are known to be big and can be easily recognized. The yields are generally very small but if processed well, the price premium can be very significant.
