(Interim) HOUSE ESPRESSO | Caficauca | Colombia
For best results we would always recommend purchasing whole bean and grinding fresh before brewing. If you don't have a grinder, we can grind according to your preferred brewing method just before shipping.
Great for espresso machines, mocha pots (stove-tops), Aeropress & cafetière. Delicious on its own and with milk.

Our usual House Espresso and what’s the deal with this “Interim” situation?
Since 2019 we have been continuously purchasing coffee from the the San Lorenzo indigenous community to roast and offer as our mainstay House Espresso. Whilst we’ve been lucky enough to have an uninterrupted supply for the most part of this time, unexpected delays do happen and sadly we are just experiencing some of them at this moment. We have some to the end of our existing supplies of San Lorenzo and our most recently contracted shipment of San Lorenzo is yet to arrive. Of course, we still need to provide a delicious House Espresso coffee with a well rounded and easy going flavour profile.
While we eagerly await the arrival of this coffee (and it will happen sooon!) we have been lucky enough to secure another Colombian lot from a new group of growers - Caficauca - providing the classic chocolatey crowd-pleasing espresso profile in the interim.
About Caficauca
Caficauca is a cooperative based in the Cauca region. Created in 1961 with the purpose of providing fair market access to local small coffee producers, it now has over 3000 members with average farm size of 1.6 ha. Our exporting partner Siruma recently started working with Caficauca, providing technical support to strengthen their skills and improve their coffee quality. The lots exported by Siruma, such as this one, are carefully selected and composed of coffee from 85 growers on average. Their coffee is processed using the classic washed method - de-pulped and fermented for 16-19 hours and slowly dried in parabolic solar dryers.
We are expecting to have this coffee available until the fresh crop of San Lorenzo lands which is currently scheduled for February 2025.
