We love sharing what we are passionate about and what we've collectively learned over the years working with coffee - there’s always more to discover.
And so we're delighted to run home barista workshops and host various cupping - coffee tasting - sessions. With the aim of not only sharing coffee making skills but also bringing the world of coffee growers and all those involved in the complex supply chains that little bit closer to coffee drinkers.
If you love coffee and want to learn with us, check out what’s coming up!

Coffee Workshops

Now available to book!

Let’s learn how to taste coffee & unpack where its flavours come from!

Coffee is one of the most chemically complex things we consume. Like anything else we eat or drink, coffee tastes, smells, and feels the way it does because locked inside the coffee bean is a complex chemical code that determines what we experience. Every flavor, every aroma, every texture originates in a set of chemicals, which in turn are determined by the seed’s genes, by how and where the coffee was grown, and by everything it has experienced since leaving the tree (processing, drying, milling, storage, transport, roasting, brewing and so on).

This 2.5h sensory workshop is focused on exploring the journey of coffee from seed to cup, our perception of flavour and the sensory attributes we find coffee and where they come from.

In the first part of the session we explore various tastes, aromas and how they come together to form our sensory experience of flavour. We calibrate our palates by recognising aroma and flavour references we use in coffee evaluation. In the second part of the session we discover how coffee growing areas, varieties & processing methods impact the flavour in the cup and we bring it all together in a 'cupping' - professional coffee tasting.
