More about Raro:

This coffee is grown by small holder farmers by 230 smallholder producers in Raro Village and carefully processed in the Kello Raro district of Uraga, located in Ethiopia's Guji Zone. The cherries are picked at peak ripeness during the harvest period from November to January, then delivered to the wet mill, owned by SNAP Specialty Coffee, where they undergo a meticulous sorting process by a dedicated team of women. After sorting, the cherries are sun-dried on raised African beds for 17 days under the strict supervision of the dry mill manager. Once dried, the coffee cherries rest for two months in a warehouse before being milled and transported to Addis Ababa for final export milling and processing.

Established in 2008, SNAP coffees is an exporting company headed up by Negusse, with Abenezer Asfaw, an experienced coffee professional, as the supply chain manager. The company now owns and manage multiple wet mills in Gedeo, Guji & West Arsi as well their warehousing, processing and lab facilities in Addis Abeba. They are a quality focused company with a long-term commitment to producing well crafted coffees.

SNAP's commitment to quality is paired with one to sustainable practices – the company invests heavily in education for their outgrowing farmers (those who sell their cherries to SNAP washing stations) through training in processing and cleaning methods. They also invest in waste recycling systems as well as organic farming practices.

Yuletide Espresso

Flavour profile: Creamy body, roasted almonds, fruitcakes & strawberry creams

Yuletide blend is back for another festive season. And we’re pretty excited about it! Once again breaking our unwritten rule of single origin coffees only, we bring you an extremely limited edition espresso blend combining two delightful coffees to give an extra festive flair to your flat whites. In a very similar vein to last year’s blend, we have combined two fantastic lots from Guatemala and Ethiopia, this time in equal proportion. A’xola Women’s Coop’s classic washed lot from Huehuetenango, Guatemala brings the lovely creamy almondy base and the natural lot from Raro station in Guji, Ethiopia adds a vibrant fruity strawberry note and lifts up the cup. Expect a sticky sweet, fruity and highly drinkable espresso with a properly festive flavour profile. We hope you love it as much as we do!
